1. Desert Safari

This is a very popular and common activity that tourists do in Dubai. Driving in a 4WD SUV vehicle over desert sand dunes is an experience in itself. It is also called "Sand Dunes bashing". There are many tour companies in Dubai that offer these, the cost is minimum AED 100 per person and it varies from season to season. The cost normally includes pick up, drop off, dinner and belly dancing and other shows.

Some of them also offer camel rides. The drives are very safe but if you are having health problems, you can skip the dune bashing part and enjoy the rest of the activities. You can also click some nice photos of the sunsets from the desert camps.

2. Go on top of Burj Khalifa

Going on top of the World's tallest building is on everyone's list when they visit Dubai. The building has 160 floors and the observation deck is on the 124th floor. The cost of the ticket is AED 400. Advance booking can also be done online from www.atthetop.ae for AED 130. Tickets are available one month in advance. Best time to visit would be just before the sunset, to get some stunning views of the city and also of the setting sun. We recommend you to book atleast 1-2 weeks in advance as the slots during the sunset time are SOLD out fast. If you can afford, you can also dine in the at.mosphere restaurant which is the world's highest restaurant located on the 120th floor.

3. Drink cocktails or have a tea in Burj al-Arab

Burj al-Arab is considered to be one of the world's most luxurious 5 star hotel. It has a very stunning architecture from the outside and inside. You can book a table in one of the restaurants in the hotel and enjoy some stunning views of the Jumeirah beach and the Palm. In the Skyview bar, you can treat yourself to some of the world's most expensive cocktails. The "Diamonds are forever" cocktail will set you back by AED 4950! 4. Sail the Dubai Creek

Going out on a cruise is one of the most romantic ways to spend an evening with your partner or with your family. In Dubai, the cruises are done on the traditional wooden ships called "dhows", hence called "Dhow Cruises". The cruises last for about 2 hours and include hotel pickup and drop off, dinner and entertainment. Most of the cruise companies have 2 routes - one departing from the Dubai creek and another departing from the Dubai Marina. There are also day cruises and sight seeing cruises. The cost is approximately AED 150 per person but the prices vary from season to season.

5. Sail into the Persian Gulf

Dubai like most other Gulf cities is built on the Persian Gulf (or Arabian Gulf). The creek cruises mentioned above do not venture into the Persian Gulf Seas. So sailing into the sea gives a totally different view of the Dubai architecture and its skyline. If you can afford you can go on a yatch or hire a private hatch. 6. Get a tan on Dubai beaches

Dubai has some very nice and well maintained beaches. Beaches like Jumeirah beach and Mamzar beach also have parks attached to them. So not only you can enjoy the sun on the beaches but also spend some leisurely time under the Palm trees and the greenery inside the parks. The public beach in Jumeirah also gives some stunning views of the Burj Al Arab (seen in the photo below).

7. Ski in Dubai

One of its kind in the world, Ski Dubai offers visitors an experience of indoor skiing in the Mall of Emirates. The admission to snow park is AED 130 (Adults) and AED 120 (Children), Ski Slope for 2 hours is 180 (Adults) and 150 (Children). There are also various options like a Power Pass (AED 275), Super Pass (AED 200) and Ski Slope Day Pass (AED 300). 8. Explore the Dubai night life

Dubai is famous for its vibrant night life, be it fine dining, drinking, smoking a shisha or dancing. When you enter a night club in Dubai, even for a moment you will not get the feeling that you are in a Islamic country. Most of the big hotels in Dubai have night clubs, some of the popular night clubs in Dubai are Barasti in the Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort, 360 in Jumeirah Beach hotel, Nasimi beach in Atlantis, Trilogy in Souk Madinat, the Cavalli Club in The Address, etc. Dubai also has a plenty of Fine Dining options offering wide range of cuisines from Arabic, Lebanese, Indian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, French, Seafood etc.

9. Eat an Shawarma

If it is your first time to an Arabic country, then you should not miss out on the Shawarma. It is a widely available street food and comes in the form of a wrap made up of shaved pieces of grilled chicken or lamb or beef. The Arabic pita bread used for wrapping the meat is called "Kuboos". All the street restaurants sell shawarmas after sunset and price varies from AED 5 to AED 10. It is a very common sight outside the street restaurants in Dubai. You can also opt for a "Shawarma plate" in which they serve grilled meat and the Arabic bread separately along with Salads, Garlic paste and Arabic sauce made up of chick-peas called "Hummus".

10. Ride the Abra

Riding an abra is one of the unique and traditional thing that you can experience in Dubai. It is way apart from the extravagance that Dubai offers and leaves you with the feeling of the difference between the "have's" and the "have nots" in Dubai. Abra is a small wooden boat that is used to ferry passengers on the Dubai Creek. It is widely used by the general population of Dubai to cross the creek.
